У конструкції кожної пральної машини обов'язково має бути датчик рівня води, який по-іншому також називають пресостатом. Він відповідає за подавання та контроль стану рідини. Зовні — це кругла деталь із корпусом, який зроблений із пластику, до неї приєднується шланг (по ньому проходить тиск) і проводина. Перемикач і мембрана розташовуються всередині корпусу. Те, яку силу матиме тиск у бачку машинки, безпосередньо залежить від рівня набраної рідини. Через шланг під тиском проходить повітря, яке впливає на мембрану, після цього вона замикає перемикач. Модуль отримує сигнал про те, що прийшов час припинити подавання рідини за допомогою проводини. За таким принципом влаштований і працює датчик рівня води.
